When it comes to state lottery games, few can measure up to the magnitude of the California SuperLotto Plus game. After all, the SuperLotto has offered jackpots that compare to big multi-state games such as the Mega Millions and Powerball. This being said, the California SuperLotto Plus is definitely one lottery that’s worth looking at closer. |

Detailed Info of California Super Lotto Plus |
The California SuperLotto is quite similar to the Mega Millions game, where players choose five main numbers and one Mega number. In regards to the main numbers, players pick from between 1-47; people choose from between 1-27 when picking the Mega number. Players must match all five main digits and the Mega number in order to win the jackpot.
As far as the odds of hitting the jackpot goes, each ticket provides a 1 in 41,416,353 chance of winning the jackpot. Considering the size of past jackpots, which we’ll discuss soon, these are decent jackpot odds. Even better (comparatively) are a person’s odds of winning any prize, which is 1 in 23.
How to Play
To play at Euromillions all players should be 18 years old or older with the exception of the UK where the minimum age is 16. A ticket costs £1.50, CHF3.20, or €3.00 depending on which nation players purchase the ticket. To win, players must guess five numbers (1 to 50) and two “Lucky Stars” (1 to 9).
Jackpots and Payout Options
Every California SuperLotto Plus jackpot starts at $8 million, and continues to increase every time it’s unclaimed. And there have been plenty of times where the jackpot has gone without being won because, as discussed before, the jackpot prizes have grown quite large. In fact, 2002 saw the California SuperLotto jackpot reach $193 million, which was won by three lucky ticket holders. The jackpot has failed to climb this high since, but there have been plenty of other huge prizes in the past.
Anybody who wins a jackpot can accept a lump sum cash payment, or they can elect to take annuity payments for 26 years. Players have up to 180 days after winning a jackpot to claim their prize, or the money goes into the California education fund. The 180 days goes for all SuperLotto prizes that players win, which is a smaller window than most other lotteries feature; however, this in no way detracts from the California Super Lotto’s big jackpots and favorable odds of winning. |
